Printing vs Embroidery – What’s Actually Included

When you pick a branding option on your workwear, here’s exactly what you get in the price - no sneaky extras, no surprises.

Standard Print (Digital & Sublimation)

On product pages you’ll see the option “Print.”
Behind the scenes, that means we’ll use Digital or Sublimation printing - depending on the fabric and colour of your garment.

Both methods work by dyeing the fibres of the shirt itself rather than sitting on top like vinyl. That means:

  • The fabric stays just as breathable as a shirt without print

  • Colours fuse with the garment - your logo blends with the shirt colour (e.g. blue on yellow may appear green). In these cases, We recommend going with all-black for your logo instead and you’ll get a bold, sharp finish.

  • Lightweight comfort that lasts

Perfect for crews working long days under the sun, where comfort matters just as much as looking sharp.

Polos in sublimation for all-day breathability, hoodies in vinyl print for bold, full-colour impact.
LBM logo above (orange polo) is printed in full colour sublimation,
Adelaide logo above (yellow polo) is printed in an all black version for bold contrast.

Digital Print

  • Works on 100% cotton garments

  • Soft, natural feel since the ink becomes part of the fabric

  • Great for detailed logos and colourful designs

  • Best on lighter-coloured shirts (dark shirts can’t be digitally printed)

👉 Included: One front OR back print, up to A4 size.

Sublimation Print

  • Works on 100% polyester garments (like hi vis polos)

  • The print literally becomes the shirt - zero impact on breathability

  • Perfect for hot worksites or long shifts in the sun

  • Crisp, lightweight finish that lasts as long as the garment

  • Best for bold, clean logos (black is especially popular)

👉 Included: One front OR back print, up to A4 size.

Vinyl Print

  • Bold, high-contrast finish that pops on any colour
  • Perfect for big, eye-catching logos and text that demand attention
  • Looks sharp when matched to trims and contrast panels for a cohesive team look

👉 Included: Your logo + up to 2 lines of text.
Need more lines? +$3.30 each.

💡 Fine details work best when contained inside a solid shape. Designs with lots of background to “weed out” (like tiny floating letters, details or intricate cut-outs) may cost extra, due to the extra time they take to prepare unless they are inside a shape or background.

Your logo is printed and cut onto a large roll of vinyl and then the white background is removed by hand, This process is known as "weeding out"

Front Vinyl: We generally don’t offer vinyl on the front because most front logos have fine details that are tricky to weed by hand. Vinyl works best for bold, solid shapes.

If you’ve got a front logo that’s suitable for vinyl, we might be able to do it on request. Some designs may need a solid background added, and it’ll depend on your logo and any changes you’re happy to make.

Embroidery

  • Classic stitched finish - sharp, textured, and long-lasting

  • Looks premium on polos, jackets, aprons, and caps

  • Best for front chest logos or headwear

👉 Included: Up to 6,000 stitches.

Need more? +$1.10 per extra 1,000 stitches.

⚠️ Note: Embroidery is done in groups of 4 garments (same logo, same colours). Smaller runs incur a fee.

Multiple Logos & Setups

Your first logo setup (embroidery OR print) is free.
If you want:

  • A different logo on the back than the front

  • Additional logos (both sides of the front, sleeves, multiple back prints etc)
  • Or a mix of embroidery + print

👉 One setup is free, extra setups are $45 each.

 Additional Logos

Want more than the standard front embroidery/print and back print? No worries - we’ve got you. Sleeves, extra front logos, multiple back prints - we can sort it all on request.

👉 The deal: your first logo setup is free, but any additional logos will need a setup fee. Once that’s sorted, the print/embroidery prices are the same as usual for each additional print/embroidery.

Just let us know what you need before placing your order and we’ll make it happen.
